Summer Schools are part of EIT Urban Mobility master’s programmes and take place between the first and second year of the programmes. They consist of a two-week curriculum in two European cities, giving the students yet another opportunity to visit places with critical urban mobility challenges. The students participate in workshops, work in groups to bring innovative solutions to concrete future-oriented business challenges, and attend inspiring conferences held by key stakeholders from industry and research.
Remaking the Street
Remaking the Street is a blended learning experience based on experiential learning principles geared towards IMPACT.
During this program, the students will be partaking in 4 modules:
- Module 1 & Module 2 online, at their own pace,
- Module 3 in-presence in Munich, Germany, at the Technical University Munich,
- Module 4 in-presence in Rotterdam, Netherlands, with Humankind, the agency for urban change.
During these four modules, the students will witness and learn about the extraordinary experiments that European cities have implemented to transform their streets. Academics, professionals, and community experts will be their guides to re-imagining the street.
By studying key academic materials online, much of the time in Rotterdam and Munich will be spent learning outside the classroom with experts who will take the students around the city by cycling, walking, and taking public transportation to showcase key locations transformed by street experiments.
The highlights of the Summer School are 1-Day Interventions in both Munich and Rotterdam, where the students will participate in implementing a street experiment.
