Rapid Applications for Transport (RAPTOR), is an agile, entrepreneurial city challenge-based competition for start-ups and SMEs. During the second annual RAPTOR Summit event, cities, start-ups, and SMEs will share their experiences and upcoming plans within the agile innovation RAPTOR programme.
Cities form the backbone of urban mobility. From initiating innovative transportation projects to the implementation and regulation of new technologies - they are a critical partner in creating lasting solutions that can be deployed in real world environments. Transport and mobility are also one of the main sectors cities must address to reach climate-neutrality.
The RAPTOR programme works directly with cities to understand and define a niche mobility challenge they face, and European start-ups or SMEs apply to an open call with their proposed solution.
In 2022, 18 pilots ran in 12 cities across 11 countries covering challenges ranging from: pollution and noise reduction, city logistics efficiency, public transport optimisation, and improved safety.
Following its success in 2022, RAPTOR is back in 2023 with 12 cities from 10 countries across Europe searching for start-ups/SMEs to help solve critical urban mobility issues. The 2023 RAPTOR competition, open until 6 May, will select the most promising start-ups and SMEs to receive 35 000 euro funding to develop their solution to be tested in the city within five months of award.
The 2023 RAPTOR Summit will take place in the Auditorium of Torre Glòries in Barcelona on 11 May from 11:00 to 14:00 CEST. Come and hear from cities and start-ups/SMEs past and present and learn about the exciting future plans for the RAPTOR programme!
