EIT Urban Mobility is committed to promoting urban mobility that is sustainable, inclusive, and accessible; and Park(ing) Day is the perfect platform to achieve this. By taking part in the action, we contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens, raising awareness about the importance of public spaces, and calling for the cultural and social transformation of our cities.
Park(ing) Day is also a great opportunity to involve citizens in decision-making, as they are asked to design and create their own temporary public spaces. This will help us better understand citizens’ needs and create urban spaces that meet their needs and expectations.
At EIT Urban Mobility, we look forward to seeing our cities’ transformation and working together with citizens to create better cities for everyone.

This initiative emerged in the city of San Francisco (USA) in 2005, where the architects’ collective Rebar proposed a new way of showing and expressing this demand, which is a fan of many cities around the world.
