Request for proposals: Mobility Corporate Venture Builder

By the present procurement procedure, the EIT KIC Urban Mobility S.L. hereby being referred to as “EIT UM” is seeking to contract an experienced external provider to act as a Mobility Corporate Venture Builder, supporting Impact Ventures division commitment to create a more competitive European entrepreneurship ecosystem to drive the transformation of urban mobility.

Impact Ventures aims to become the reference in the market for supporting and funding gender-balanced start-ups within urban mobility. Our instruments are:

• Funding through grants and equity investments
• Knowledge and training through partner-led programmes
• Networking and hot lead introductions through dedicated support to our equity portfolio companies.

We support the lifecycle of start-ups and scale-ups through programmes focused on three phases: pre-investment (acceleration), investment, and post investment (scale-up). In addition, we rely on both funding instruments and our own investment activities. We especially help start-ups and scale-ups matchmaking with living labs and pilot opportunities with cities in our partner network. Our investment policy strives at achieving a strong growing venture equity portfolio, with the intention to generate positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.

Impact Ventures division aims to expand its activities to trigger the creation of new companies based on novel technologies, products, business models, … in the field of urban mobility. Or alternatively by replicating existing business models in the field of urban mobility which have proved to be successful and scalable for the mobility sector.

The Mobility Corporate Venture Builder will fill the missing gap at the most initial point of the entrepreneurship journey by developing a venture model that systematically produces new mobility companies, addressing innovation problems that corporations face.
