Within the EIT Academy department, the Competence Hub aims to fill the urban mobility knowledge gap and make mobility more efficient and sustainable, by promoting systemic and behavioural change, with a strong innovation and entre/intrapreneurship focus. The Competence Hub is impact/market-oriented to capacity building (create/occupy new jobs) and skill development (lead the transformation).

Within the Competence Hub, the role of the E-courses team is to provide high-quality and updated online courses that help understand urban mobility, giving the freedom to the participants to take the course at their own pace.

Via its website UMC, the Competence Hub offers 50+ courses and provides the following features:

– Understand and analyse urban mobility concepts, trends, challenges, transformations.

– Asynchronous courses, accessible from anywhere

– Practical and impact-oriented

– Free content, EIT Urban Mobility Academy certification

– In collaboration with recognised mobility experts and thought-leaders from top universities/consultancies

– Additional e-courses published on Coursera and FutureLearn.

By the present procurement procedure, EIT KIC Urban Mobility S.L., hereby being referred to as “EIT UM”, is aiming to identify potential suppliers (online learning agencies) capable of supporting the creation, production, and delivery of 1 to 5 Short Online Course (SOC) in 2024.

A SOC is defined as a short online asynchronous training programme, to be fully completed over one to several day(s) and that addresses important urban mobility-related topics.

The supplier will be responsible for the whole creation of the SOC, from the definition of a course outline, the creation of course contents, structures, and assets (scripts, recording of videos, other material, animations etc.) and the assembling of the learning material in the selected platform and into learning units using the SCORM format.

The supplier shall deliver the course to EIT UM, who will be in charge of publishing and operating the SOC. Some additional support should be provided by the supplier to EIT UM for a few weeks after the delivery of the finalised course for any post-delivery corrections, amendments or updates needed. The supplier will be supported by an academic supervisor appointed and contracted by EIT UM. This person will be in charge of providing the course content and advising on the subject of SOC. She/he will be the “face” of the course to the public. As such, the content provider will be responsible for content quality insurance and will work closely with the supplier and EIT Urban Mobility at all stages of the course production. The specific tasks of each role will be discussed case by case in the definition project stage. Additionally, the Competence Hub will take into account the capability of the supplier to include in the course creation premium elements and innovative/new features and technologies, aimed at enhancing the user’s experience, fostering engagement in asynchronous courses and support the asynchronous course dissemination.
