Join us at Klimafolkemødet, a climate festival taking place on 29-31 August 2024 in Middelfart, Denmark. Under the theme of “Climate Action Together”, this event brings together decision-makers, companies, organisations and citizens for discussions, lectures, workshops and cultural activities. The goal is to share knowledge, present ideas and learn about effective actions to tackle the climate crisis.
Panel discussion about youth engagement
On 30 August from 11.00 to 11.45, EIT Urban Mobility and Aalborg University will host an interactive panel discussion at Klimafolkemødet in the Prisme pavilion. We invite you to join the conversation about how we create sustainable cities of the future together with young people.
As urban populations continue to grow, cities face increasing pressure to evolve and provide climate-friendly environments that not only support community health and well-being today but also sustain these needs even a century from now. Therefore, this discussion will explore key questions: How can we effectively create future cities through the active involvement of young people, who will inhabit them for decades? Moreover, can we consistently engage citizens to ensure we find the best solutions?
Recognising the significant impact of climate change on younger generations, their involvement is crucial. During the panel, EIT Urban Mobility and Desire, an EU Commission’s New European Bauhaus lighthouse demonstrator, will present two examples highlighting the involvement of young people in cities.
Panellists

- Olivia Thomassen Harre, Postdoctoral Researcher at Aalborg University
