On Wednesday 8 May, EIT Urban Mobility, Nordic Edge and NetZeroCities will co-host a workshop in Stavanger as part of Nordic Edge Expo 2024.
Decarbonising mobility and transport: Nordic pathways to climate-neutral cities by 2030
Which impact pathways can cities like Stavanger, Trondheim and Oslo pursue to drastically reduce transport emissions and reach their climate goals for 2030?
Stavanger, Trondheim and Oslo are part of the EU mission for 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030. But while Europe’s green transition depends largely on cities’ ability to transform and decarbonise their mobility and transport systems, European cities everywhere continue to struggle with this wicked problem.
The green transformation of mobility and transport will require cities to adopt a systemic approach with a focus on people, policies and places. They need to map the opportunities and barriers they face, dive deep into the interconnections between specific interventions, actions and outcomes, and identify impact pathways to change. And they need to find new ways to innovate, collaborate and learn from each other’s failures and successes.
Join this one-day workshop based on the concept of “Impact Pathways,” organised by EIT Urban Mobility, Nordic Edge and NetZeroCities in Stavanger on 8 May. The workshop’s co-creation exercises will enable representatives from mission cities, public transport authorities, private companies and other key stakeholders to foster systemic thinking, explore the benefits of systems innovation and demonstrate impact pathways, while facilitating peer-to-peer learning, shared understanding and new collaborations.
