The 106th edition of the Salon des Maires et des Présidents d’intercommunalite de France will take place in Paris on November 19-21, 2024, preceded by the Overseas Elected Officials Meeting on November 18. The theme, “The Communes… Fortunately!”, highlights the vital role of communes as pillars of stability amid political and institutional challenges, emphasizing their impact on public services, local democracy, and community well-being.
Discussions will focus on three main areas: promoting local freedoms and citizen participation, strengthening social cohesion through inclusive policies, and addressing ecological challenges. The Congress will also reaffirm the importance of decentralization and the capacity of communes to navigate crises.
