The role Urban Air Mobility (UAM) will play in European cities’ transport systems is still being defined. Businesses, experts, cities, and regulatory bodies focus their attention on central questions such as use cases for both people and goods mobility, regulation, or acceptance and uptake, which have been tackled in EIT Urban Mobility’s recent study Expectations and Success Factors for Urban Air Mobility in Europe.
In this Mobility Talks episode, speakers from different backgrounds will share their insights and experience about cities’ and citizens’ expectations towards UAM, the implementation challenges faced by communities, and the economic and financial opportunities that UAM bring to both private and public entities.

Meet the speakers:
Denise Soesilo
Denise is the co-founder and managing partner at Outsight International, an innovation and development consultancy based in Geneva, Switzerland. She is an expert in scaling clean technologies and has worked with numerous organisations, including humanitarian and UN institutions, particularly on operationalising civilian uses for Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles. In addition, Denise is the author of numerous publications on the responsible use of drones in disaster risk reduction, medical supply chains, and sustainable development. She also holds a Masters’ degree in Environmental Management and a BA in Environmental Studies from Yale University.
Camilla Wikström
Camilla Wikström has a background as an energy engineer with focus on smart cities. Currently, she’s working as a project manager in the Stockholm City’s Transport department. Her focus is on innovation in topics such as mobility data, charging infrastructure, urban air mobility, public space and policy development. She is currently leading an internal development approach for urban air mobility. She is also leading City of Stockholm’s participation in the project CITYAM, which is funded by Interreg Baltic Sea Region and aiming at preparing cities for sustainable urban air mobility.
José Ramón García
José Ramón García is an industrial engineer, holding the position of project manager of Tecnalia in TindAIR project. Operations manager of Tecnalia UAM team, working in the Air Taxi development together with our partner UMILES NEXT, and Safety and Compliance Manager of Tecnalia in the demo flight operations performed in 2022 in three EC Funded projects (TindAIR, AMU-LED and Uspace4UAM).
Willem Frederik Metzelaar
Before joining EIT Urban Mobility as Director of Innovation Hub West, Willem Frederik was active in the Dutch energy utility market as Commercial Director. After founding several companies in data analytics he became active as investor. Then he joined EIT Digital for several years and got in touch with the EU Tech landscape, where he developed his interest in urban mobility and got insights about the fact that cities need to drastically change. After having seen the film ‘Together we Cycle’ he sold his cars the next day, started biking, using public transport and carsharing services. Besides, he became president of the Cycling Federation Rotterdam (Fietsersbond Rotterdam+Regio) and thereby got directly involved in talks with the municipality on road safety and reinforcing the bicycle culture.
