EIT Community

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, was founded in 2008 by the European Union with the goal of strengthening Europe’s ability to innovate. EIT is an integral part of Horizon Europe, the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The EIT Community is made up of nine Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) bringing education and research organisations together with startups and bussiness to form dynamic cross-border partnerships.

Each EIT KIC is dedicated to finding solutions to a specific global challenge by developing innovative products and services, nurturing new startups and training a new generation of entrepreneurs. Together, the EIT Community empowers innovators and entrepreneurs across Europe to turn their best ideas into products, services, jobs and growth through intersectoral, interdisciplinary, international and entrepreneurial programming.
