A year ago, the world’s first commercial autonomous electric passenger ferry, Estelle, was launched in Stockholm with great success. Today, a substantial upgrade will be shown for the first time, as a demonstration of the ferry’s control centre will take place. This means that for the first time ever, Estelle’s navigational responsibility will be moved to a remote operations centre, making it the world’s first remote-controlled urban ferry.
The demonstration takes place on Norr Mälarstrand, on Thursday 20 June starting at 10:30 in the morning.
Powered by Zeabuz, the cutting-edge autonomy technology making this historic achievement possible. EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, a body of the European Union, supports Zeabuz with investment as a shareholder.
You are invited to attend the demonstration and there will be both good photo and interview opportunities.
