Request for proposals: Media and public relations support

EIT Urban Mobility is looking for an agency to launch an active Media and Public Affairs strategy, which includes the identification of relevant journalists, dissemination of information, proactive negotiation of interviews and articles, and establishing long-term relations with key stakeholders in Visegrad countries and Romania, according to our country strategy. The overall communication objectives of EIT Urban Mobility are:

  1. Raising awareness of the need for more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative urban mobility in Europe.
  2. Brand reputation: Placing EIT Urban Mobility as THE reference on urban mobility.
  3. Community growth: Strengthening relationships and bringing EIT Urban Mobility and its projects visibility to new stakeholders and attract them to our community. 

The main objective of this request is to keep and improve EIT Urban Mobility presence in the Visegrad countries and Romania media landscape (broadcasting, written and digital) and increase our long-term relations with key stakeholders in the country, with the support of an experienced PR/Press-Public Affairs Agency. The selected agency must provide local native-speaker staff, in Visegrad countries and Romania, with proficiency level of English to help EIT Urban Mobility’s Hub East in achieving these. We expect the selected agency to create press releases and organize communication activities related to media (e.g. interviews, journalist briefings, digital roundtable, press visit, podcast guest, speaker placement or similar), and disseminate news and press releases in the local and English speaking media in selected countries. The selected agency will also support EIT Urban Mobility in establishing contacts and arranging meetings with local stakeholders which are key for our work for different purposes (visibility, positioning, financial sustainability, etc.)

EIT Urban Mobility Innovation Hub East will share a list of spokespeople for each media activity, although it will be in most cases EIT Urban Mobility’s Management Team.

The main key target audiences of EIT Urban Mobility are, among others:

  • Cities, Regions, Governments, Ministers, Civil Servants, etc.
  • Institutional and European networks: European Union bodies, international organisations.
  • Opinion leaders: Think Tanks, universities, researchers, experts, policy analysts. 
  • Lobby and civil society organisations. 
  • Private sector: Start-ups and industry in the mobility, transport, energy, and environment sector.
  • End users and citizens.
