Senior Onboarding Officer

Who are we?

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an independent EU body. EIT increase Europe’s ability to innovate by nurturing entrepreneurial talent and supporting new ideas.

EIT’s mission is to:

  • Increase Europe’s competitiveness, its sustainable economic growth and job creation by promoting and strengthening cooperation among leading business, education and research organisations.
  • Power innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe by creating environments for creative and innovative thoughts to thrive.

The EIT brings together leading organisations from business, education and research, the so-called ‘knowledge triangle’, to form dynamic cross-border partnerships – EIT Innovation Communities.

The EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities (“KICs”) are partnerships that bring together businesses, research centres and universities. They allow:

  • innovative products and services to be developed in every area imaginable, including climate change, healthy living and active ageing
  • new companies to be started
  • a new generation of entrepreneurs to be trained

There are currently nine KICs and each focuses on a different societal challenge:

  • EIT Urban Mobility: Smart, green and integrated transport for liveable urban spaces
  • EIT Climate-KIC: Working to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy
  • EIT Digital: Driving Europe’s digital transformation
  • EIT Food: Leading a global revolution in food innovation and production
  • EIT Health: Giving EU citizens greater opportunities to enjoy a healthy life
  • EIT InnoEnergy: Achieving a sustainable energy future for Europe
  • EIT Manufacturing: Strengthening and increasing the competitiveness of Europe’s manufacturing industry
  • EIT Raw Materials: Developing raw materials into a major strength for Europe
  • EIT Culture & Creativity: Transforming Europe’s Cultural & Creative Sectors and Industries

The EIT’s financial contribution to the KICs is provided in the form of a grant for action. Likewise, KICs provide financial support to participants of the relevant calls launched by each of the KICs.

Such financial support can only be granted to those participants that meet the criteria of eligibility stated in the framework of Horizon Europe regulations and the relevant calls.

To this end, the KICs are intending to set up a common onboarding service to verify the legal and financial eligibility of participants for KIC’s grants.

This Onboarding Service will be run from EIT Urban Mobility and will encompass the service for all KICs.
