EIT Urban Mobility is an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union and Europe’s largest network for transport innovation in cities.

About the position
The Social media and website assistant is part of the central Communications & EU Affairs team and will report to the External Communications Manager. The key accountability of the jobholder is:
- On the one hand, to manage the social media channels of the organisation, namely LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, implementing the content strategy previously defined, building strong relationships with the Comms single people of contact (SPOCs) to ensure timely collection and dissemination of key information.
- On the other hand, to assist in the management of the EIT Urban Mobility website, including content management, troubleshooting of technical issues on the website and monitoring.
Be part of a team where you will perform the following tasks:
Website:
- Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues and liaise with the IT developers to solve it as soon as possible.
- Ensure that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures.
- Conduct content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information, to ensure perfect functioning of JAVA script.
- Improve the user experience of the website regularly, including implementation of SEO strategy, meta-description, etc.
- Ensure full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry best practices and monitoring third parties related websites.
Social media:
- Implement social media campaigns following the social media and content strategy in place in the company.
- Monitor social media regularly and ensure the accomplishment of the KPIs and KRAs set for social media campaigns. Provide regular monitoring reports and implement and recommend improvements for the future.
- Update social media content across all channels
- Engage with customers and followers, including social listening
- Use social media marketing tools such as Buffer, Meltwater and Hootsuite
- Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics created through social media
- Establish relationships with social media influencers to develop a strong network
- Develop content or get it done by content developers and ensure a high level of quality
- Keep an eye on social media trends
What you will bring along the way:
An ideal candidate would strive to generate positive environmental and social impact in line with EIT Urban Mobility’s mission. We are looking for individuals with a “can do” attitude, who are passionate about disseminating knowledge, know-how, good practices and lessons learnt.
Must-Haves:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field;
- Written and spoken English (C1);
- 3+ years’ experience in social media, ideally in the field of mobility, or related topics and experience working for an EU-related body;
- Experience working with social media platforms is required; specifically, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. Knowledge of TikTok and others will be considered an advantage;
- Strong knowledge of Hootsuite, Meltwater and Google Analytics.
- Experience in crafting SEO-focused content for CMS
- Experience with paid campaigns, especially LinkedIn Ads, Twitter Ads, and Instagram Ads
- Excellent knowledge of CMS in Drupal and WordPress.
- Analytical skills and experience in analysing social media performance;
Nice-to-have:
- Good knowledge of (urban) mobility is considered an advantage.
- Any EU Language other than English is a plus.

Kindly note that this position is based in Barcelona.
This is a permanent and full-time position, with possibility to homework up to 2 days a week.
No relocation expenses are granted.
