Welcome batch #2 to the EIT Urban Mobility Accelerator programme!

From more than 250 applications from all over Europe and associated countries EIT Urban Mobility selected the 25 most-promising startups to be part of the second cohort of this 6-month accelerator programme. The founder teams will benefit from financial support, mentoring, coaching, expert workshops, free office space, access to local ecosystems and infrastructure, and a lot more provided by the acceleration partners in the five Innovations Hubs.

Innovation Hub Central

  • AWAKE Mobility (Germany)
    AWAKE Mobility is developing a predictive maintenance platform for city-bus operators in order to help them prevent vehicle breakdowns in the field. Their vision is a world of undisturbed transportation, where passengers don’t have to suffer from delays caused by technical issues.

  • Blink Last Mile (Italy)
    Last-mile delivery is a bottleneck for B2C e-commerce: a key part of the online purchasing experience, but express couriers struggle with it. Blink Last Mile democratises sustainable same-day delivery for non-Amazon e-tailers, with a “relay race” exploiting heavy and light vehicles.

  • Bluedot (Turkey)
    The AirBnB of charging stations for electric car users: The Bluedot app connects all charging stations into a single network, enabling owners to share and monetize them.

  • Moovster GmbH (Germany)
    Moovster wants to make mobility in cities more sustainable and rewarding by creating a win-win situation for cities, city dwellers, and companies with a new mobility platform. A flexible mobility budget, e.g. from the employer, or as a privately booked mobility package, enables the use of all existing mobility services as a real alternative to the own car or company car. The Moovster App rewards particularly sustainable mobility decisions with attractive rewards, similar to Miles-and-More.

  • Securaxis (Switzerland)
    Securaxis turns ‘sound’ into actionable insights for monitoring, and the exploitation of urban sound to improve cities’ operations while saving money and to answer citizens’ worries about privacy and sustainability.
    The technology combines accoustics with advanced artificial intelligence and IoT (Internet of Things) to add the missing layer to smart cities: the hearing, sounds analytics, allowing for detection, recognition, and localization of specific sounds in any kind of environment.

  • BringAuto is a startup whose mission is to make people’s lives easier by bringing robots into cities. DringAuto designs and produces automotive delivery robots for last-mile delivery which significantly decreases the cost of delivery.

  • Dashfactory’s vision is to digitize bicycle traffic, to make cycling safer and more attractive while also improving the cycling infrastructure. The Dashbike technology of event-related and legally compliant video recording, including all metadata as well as the simultaneous collection of daily updated infrastructure data in the required quantity, is to be extended to other means of transportation.

  • In the present times – the era of rapid development of urban agglomerations – an increasing number of European cities know the problem of smog. Due to this, they have introduced zero-emission zones and have moved transport into the communication network. For several years, FSE has been involved in projects related to ecological transport and audits in the field of changing the electric fleet to electrical ones.   • Gordian Logistics Optimisation Systems
    Gordian is a DeepTech software startup that makes transport planning easy and effective by untangling millions of movement traces. Their products are based on proprietary movement data analytics and AI. They provide benefits to their customers by making planning easy, interactive, and evidence-based. Plans derived with their products are up to five times more cost-effective than those of their competitors and can result in savings of megatons in CO2-emissions or billions of Euros in costs.

  • InnoBrain
    With the introduction of autonomous and teleoperated vehicles, drivers are either removed or they control the vehicles from distance. That brings two main challenges during product development and surveillance: 1) Tracking drivers’ performance in teleoperated situations and 2) subjective assessment of vehicles from the passengers’ perspective. InnoBrain offers a Neuro-AI based platform to directly track and evaluate the cognitive and emotional status of teleoperation drivers as well as passengers.

  • Peregrine Technologies
    Peregrine Technologies is a Berlin-based AI technology company that is improving road safety and minimising CO2 emissions in cities. By deriving context from real-time traffic scene imagery, they prevent and avoid the likelihood of high-risk events in traffic. They automatically remove personal information in imagery, e.g. faces and license plates, making their service GDPR compliant. Peregrine is set out to support drivers and fleet operators to save lives and money.

  • Skipit
    The world’s first urban mobility app specifically targeted at the travel and tourism market: They empower their users with a “Global Oystercard and Journey Planner”.   • Advanced Services In MOBility – ASIMOB (Spain)
    ASIMOB applies new technologies, such as AI and IoT, to the digitalisation and automation of road inspection tasks that road managers/ operators still perform manually. This is the case for traffic sign inspections or location and evaluation of irregularities in the road surface. Using lightweight, low-cost onboard sensing equipment, ASIMOB automates these tasks and generates digital evidence of each inspection, enabling early risk awareness and the optimisation of road maintenance tasks.
